Mission
Miranda’s healing journey began with debilitating chronic migraines, persistent pain, and recurring rashes. Despite doing everything she was told was “healthy,” her body continued to react negatively—many foods and supplements only made her symptoms worse. With limited options and mounting frustration, she believed holistic healing might not be possible for her.
Everything changed when a longtime client recommended acupuncture after experiencing profound relief themselves. From her very first treatments, Miranda felt a shift. Acupuncture addressed what nothing else had: her whole body, not just isolated symptoms. As she continued treatment, Miranda realized that her current work no longer felt complete. She began referring more clients to acupuncture. That clarity sparked a deeper calling.
Today, Miranda’s mission is to guide others toward long-term relief, balance, and a renewed connection with their bodies, especially those who feel unheard, sensitive, or discouraged by conventional approaches. She believes healing is not one-size-fits-all and that the body always holds the wisdom when given the right support.
Professional Vision
Miranda's solo practice is the first step in a larger vision to create an environment where people can explore their healing with clarity, compassion, and personalized care. Her years as a massage therapist, combined with her clinical training in acupuncture, give her a uniquely integrative perspective. She brings hands-on skill, energetic insight, and a holistic understanding of the body to every session. Her work is more than a profession; it is a lifelong commitment to helping others regain their strength, restore balance, and live with greater ease and vitality.
About Miranda
Miranda received her Massage Therapy certification in 2014 and an Associate's in Massage Therapy in 2016, a Bachelor’s degree in Health and Wellness in 2021, and a four-year Master’s degree in Acupuncture from the Virginia University of Integrative Medicine.
Outside of her clinical work, she stays connected to her own balance through movement, nature, and nourishment. Hiking grounds her and reminds her of the body’s natural rhythms, while time in the gym supports strength, resilience, and longevity. Food is both a joy and a form of medicine for her, and sports, especially basketball, keep her connected to play, community, and the importance of showing up fully in the body. These practices aren’t separate from her work; they help inform how she understands health, energy, and what it means to feel well.
Her work is grounded in the belief that the human body is a dynamic, ever-adapting system that seeks balance, and that healing happens when we address both the physical and energetic roots of imbalance.
“My philosophy is rooted in curiosity and connection. I believe the body is always communicating, and that symptoms, whether physical or emotional, are meaningful signals rather than random events. Nothing in our lives exists in isolation. Our experiences, relationships, habits, stresses, and environments all influence the way we feel and function. I see each person as a whole, layered being with a story that shows up not only in their mind and emotions but also in their body.
Healing, to me, is about understanding those connections and supporting the body’s natural ability to return to balance. I also believe that we come into this world with a purpose. The people we encounter, the challenges we face, and even the moments of discomfort we experience each communicate to us our state of balance. Illness and imbalance are simply part of that conversation, inviting us to listen and adapt. My role as a practitioner is to help illuminate these patterns, offer clarity, and guide the body gently toward a state of equilibrium. I support healing in a way that honors both science and intuition, structure, and softness, the yang and the yin. This philosophy shapes every treatment, every conversation, and every step of the journey with my patients.”
Healing Approach
Miranda blends traditional East Asian principles with modern scientific understanding. She works with multiple modalities, including acupuncture, bodywork, lifestyle guidance, exercises, and nutrition to help the body shift efficiently toward healing. Her approach honors both discipline and compassion, recognizing that real change requires intention and commitment. Miranda strives to relieve both physical discomfort and emotional burden. She listens deeply, values patient education, and designs treatment plans that address root causes rather than symptoms. Her sessions are collaborative, nurturing, and tailored to each individual’s needs.
Yang Meets Yin was created after years of observing a gap in the type of care people were receiving. During 11 years as a massage therapist, Miranda noticed that many of the aches, patterns, and discomforts clients carried weren't just muscular; they were rooted in deeper imbalances, stress, lifestyle habits, and unmet emotional needs.
Massage provided temporary relief, but many people needed more:
Yang Meets Yin was born to offer a deeper and more comprehensive level of care.
Our mission is to bridge the gap between short-term relief and long-term transformation. Whether your goal is walking the dog without pain, feeling more at home in your body, or simply experiencing life with more comfort, confidence, and ease. This practice exists to support your unique healing path.
